“The Health Ethics Trust, of which I have been a part for several years, not only addresses the many areas of the corporate compliance but also provides invaluable information about how to meet the vast array of state and federal compliance requirements,” Smith said. “It’s an honor to have earned the recognition from such an authority in the field.”
Smith has over 30 years of experience in the corporate compliance field. His background includes work in compliance integrity in the defense industry, 13 years as president of the board of directors for a non-profit adult home care center, and as chief compliance officer at a skilled nursing facility for its five offices in the Hudson Valley. Smith has written over 110 published articles on healthcare and business topics, grants, and a best-selling book, and chaired or co-chaired over 65 business and golf events. At EverCare, a non-profit organization providing Managed Long-Term Care Plan, Certified Home Health Agency, and Adult Social Day Program services in the Hudson Valley, Smith plans, directs, and implements compliance activities, and develops strategic partnerships with communities, organizations, and elected officials.
“Mike has been instrumental in developing, implementing, and monitoring our robust compliance/risk and audit program, which we unequivocally expect of our staff to adhere,” said EverCare President/CEO Sylvia McTigue. “This honor just reinforces Mike’s strong business ethics, high morals, and professional expertise on which we rely to develop, meet, and exceed stringent compliance requirements.”
