Newburgh, N.Y. – (September 18, 2019) – EverCare, a non-profit organization providing Managed Long-Term Care, Certified Home Health, and Adult Social Day services in the Hudson Valley, has achieved the Corporate Compliance Program certification.

EverCare, which voluntarily submitted its organization for the rigorous certification process, was granted a full three-year certification. The Health Ethics Trust’s Compliance Program certification is a mark of excellence for compliance programs.

“The staff at EverCare has worked extremely hard to ensure the full protection of our members, patients, and clients under our compliance program and corporate ethics charter,” said EverCare President and CEO Sylvia McTigue. “We are committed to promoting an environment that prevents unethical or unlawful conduct throughout our organization, and we are honored to receive the Compliance Certification from a trusted industry leader such as the Health Ethics Trust.”

The Health Ethics Trust is a division of the Council of Ethical Organizations, and provides advisory services, educational programs, compliance risk assessment, and survey research on ethics-compliance issues. Healthcare Ethics Trust established the compliance program as a peer review process. The entire Compliance Program Certification process is overseen by the Fellows of the Health Ethics Trust, which is made up of approximately 25 leading CEOs and CCOs nationwide.

EverCare’s own chief compliance officer, Michael A. Smith, was recognized as a Fellow of the Trust in 2017. He is a certified compliance executive with Health Ethics Trust, and serves on its annual Best Practices Forum Committee.

“We take great pride in maintaining an environment that has a strong commitment to ethics and compliance,” said Smith.
